Scott Altmann was born in 1977 on Long Island, New York. He graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 1999 with a BFA and continued studying at the Art Students League of New York. Scott has had a professional illustration career spanning over 13 years and has worked for a large array of clients including major publishers such as Harper Collins , Random House and Penguin Books. Other
clients include Bethesda/Zenimax, Blizzard Entertainment, and Wizards of the Coast. His work has been included in the juried publications Spectrum Fantastic Art, and Society of Illustrators. In 2010 his art for “The Mysterious Mr. Spines: FLIGHT” won a Chesley Award for best paperback cover.
Today, Scott has turned his focus on his personal paintings with a renewed intent and vision. Utilizing painterly realism and abstraction, the artist searches for hopeful moments of clarity in the vague transitions of existence. With deeply personal subject matter, the work is mysterious yet intimate.
